Kapili Roofing Gives Back: Mililani Golf Club

Kapili Roofing continues to celebrate our 15 years in business with our donation of 15 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to organizations around the island. We’re pleased to provide one of these devices to Mililani Golf Club.

Serving others is what we do best, whether we’re putting a roof over heads or providing medical assistance with our donation of AED devices. We aim to lead by example and invest in the communities in which we live and work. If we can change just one life, it will all be worth it.

More Than Just Roofing

We’ve been asked many times: Why are we donating AEDs instead of roofs, as we have done in the past? It’s simple, really. Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, at any time. We’ve seen this first-hand with a loved one

who couldn’t get medical attention in time. An automated external defibrillator is a life-saving device that can be used to treat someone in cardiac arrest. AEDs are easy to use and can be found in many public places, such as schools, offices, and recreation centers.

However, we recognize there’s a serious shortage of AEDs in public places around the island. Not many of our local businesses or establishments have them, and we’re working hard to change this.

Donating an AED is a simple and effective way to help save lives. AEDs are portable and relatively inexpensive, so they can be easily placed in locations where they are most needed. When someone has a cardiac emergency, every second counts. Having an AED nearby can mean the difference between life and death.

Why We Chose Mililani Golf Club

We’re donating 15 AEDs to organizations around the island, not many of which are golf course. Mililani Golf Course provides a bunch to the community from raising funds for other organizations to hosting events, and providing a golf club for the local golfers! Because golf courses like this one serve countless others on a weekly basis, we believe they should have access to life-saving medical equipment. 

The course is centrally located in lower Mililani, and its far proximity to other hospitals and frequently trafficked areas will put this equipment within reach of more people. And with the hospital just a little distance away, it is our hope that this device provides assistance in a cardiac emergency until further help arrives.
