Kapili Roofing Gives Back: Make-A-Wish Foundation

For 15 years, Kapili Roofing has given the utmost care and attention to our neighbors, friends, and fellow business owners. This year, to mark our 15th year in business, we’re demonstrating our care for the community in a different way.

We are donating 15 automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) to local organizations in hopes that we might save a life. We’re pleased to include Make-A-Wish Foundation in our season of giving and will be donating a cabinet AED to provide life-saving services for years.

Changing the World with AED Donations

Why AED donations? We’re a roofing company, true, but more importantly, we’re in the people business.

When it comes to saving lives, every second counts. That’s why we chose to donate 15 AEDs to local organizations. AEDs are an essential piece of equipment for anyone who wants to be prepared for a cardiac emergency. They’re easy to use and can make all the difference in a time of need. And since cardiac events can happen so quickly, there’s not always enough to call for help.

We believe that by donating an AED, we’re helping to create a safer and healthier community. And that’s something we can all feel good about.

Why We Make-A-Wish Foundation

For us, it was important to find a organization that aligned with our values. We also wanted to make sure that our donation would be used in a way that would benefit the community. Make-A-Wish Foundation has continually practiced what they preach about helping keiki in need, leading by example, and being kind to their neighbors — all things that we also strive to embody here at Kapili Roofing.

How it started

Make-A-Wish started its inspiration from Christopher James Greicius, an energetic 7-year-old boy who was diagnosed with leukemia who wishes to be a police officer in the 1980's. Today, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of life-changing wishes to children battling critical illnesses! Our donation will go towards helping them continue their work in the community, and we couldn't be happier about it.

Setting a Strong Example for Future Generations

We’re honored to have such strong connections with organizations like Make-A-Wish Foundation. Organizations like Make-A-Wish serve as a trusted source of safety, kindness, and compassion. We each make a difference in our own ways, whether it’s installing a new roof for a family in need, providing life-saving medical equipment, or being called upon to put that medical equipment to work in an emergency until other help arrives.
