Kapili Roofing Gives Back: Kumuola Foundation
Kapili Roofing knows that milestones like 15 years in business don’t happen every day, which is why we’re celebrating with community organizations like the Kumuola Foundation. This month, we’ll be donating one of 15 automatic external defibrillators (AEDs) to the Kumuola Foundation in order to serve our community with much-needed medical equipment.
In the past, we’ve donated new roofs to homeowners in need. But we realized we could do good in other ways, and we’re pleased to take part in providing life-saving medical devices to our local communities and partners who also want to make a difference.
Celebrating 15 Years in This Community
Homes are one of the most important investments that families can make. Not only is a home a place to live, but it’s also an investment that can appreciate over time. That’s why when it comes to roofing, it’s important to choose a company you can trust.
We’re pleased to be that partner our neighbors have chosen for 15 years and counting. Kapili Roofing is a family-owned business helping home and business owners like you gain peace of mind when and where you need it most. We are a GAF Master Elite Roofer, which means we have been factory-certified by one of the leading roofing manufacturers in the country.
And with our 15-year celebration, we’re continuing to invest in our community with our donation of 15 AEDs throughout the island.
Why We Chose Kumuola Foundation
The Kumuola Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose name means “The Tree of Life.” Founded in 2009, the Foundation's mission is to provide support and resources to share Hawaii’s culture with the world and preserve its arts for future generations. Its beautiful location in the Manoa Valley on a working cultural farm brings its purpose to life. The farm attracts visitors from all over, including local volunteers, tourists, students, and educators seeking to immerse themselves in Hawaiian culture.
Their diversity of programs encourages participants to reconnect with nature, protect our native wildlife and flora, and create a sustainable community and living environment. They work with people of all ages and skill levels and have earned impressive community involvement in its preservation efforts.
Bearing a name that means life itself, the Kumuola Foundation provided the perfect place for an AED device. They’re committed to preserving life as we know it, and that mission extends to helping others in times of crisis.
Delivering Help When and Where It’s Needed
Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death in the United States. According to the American Heart Association, SCA claims the lives of more than 350,000 Americans each year. An AED is a portable device that can be used to treat SCA, and they’re easy to use.
We believe that everyone should have access to this life-saving technology, which is why we’re leading by example. For a complete list of recipients during our season of giving, head to our blog.
